20 Top Players Share Their NOLF Knowledge - Page 3

For you, how much of NOLF is a social activity chatting with friends, etc. And
how much is just to play the game?
NOLFers are a very sociable group of people.
I'd say 80/20, game playing wins at first I didn't talk to much I just
wanted to play the game but as you start to get friends in NOLF you'll want
to speak to them and join in games with them, sometimes I do enter a server
just to talk to someone. But not often and I always play between chats ;)
It's always fun when I'm in a game with my friends even if they happen
to be on the other team! I try to distribute my time evenly and sometimes
its more chat and sometimes more play! I just like to have fun!
You meet much people from other countries and I like that to meet people
with another culture and different language.
I have found that many people from nolf are cool people outside of the
game. Not to bag on the game, but it is a little old, but making friends
in the game is definitely the way to keep your interest in it. Plus
its a small community so mostly everyone knows each other, which makes it
even more enjoyable.
25/75
I would say 40/60.
50/50
I like to chat. Its not a problem I dont think. I play the game more,
but the common n1 (nice one) or gg (good game) come to mind. Also if I see
one of my friends, like a clan mate, I talk to them to find out whats up.
If we didnt talk, I dont think NOLF would end up as it were today.
In DM it's fun to chat, in AM it's rather annoying.
Do you keep track of your position on CSports.net? Whether or not you
do, what do you think of the CSports ranking system?
Most of the responders had some serious issues with how CSports ranks players.
When I first started NOLFing I took very keen interest of my CSports position...the
fact of the matter is that I was learning to play and I could se myself rising
thru the positions it gave me more interest in the game...now I still check
once in a while but once you've hit the number one spot you don't need to
check everyday :)
Yes, I do keep track of my ranking! I really like csports! They were down
for quite some time though and it was difficult to keep track then.
" Well I don't like csports very much.
Yes and no. I will check csports.net to see who has been playing
what lately and how much. Csports, in my opinion, is not a very good
ranking system. I have found that if you play the game A LOT and score
a lot, then you can find yourself near the top. It doesnt accurately
portray any skill level in nolf. Although, most of the players at the
top are usually good players, it doesnt mean they are the best in my book.
I used to until I understood how it kept track of points. Harm vs.. Unity
is not about the points scored but rather how well your team plays. If I
had a recommendation for csports to calculate points for rankings I would
suggest that it some how keep track of who killed who in a match rather than
who scored the most points. That would be a more accurate.
I used to, until I realized it was crap.
I'm looking at it from time to time, but for Newbies I would recommend
to look at it often, because it's quite some motivation if you see your name
climbing higher. CSports is highly inaccurate - although it got better - but
it's fun anyway. Vlad said it best: You get your daily shot of CSports :)
I do keep track of my csports rank (right now #1, lol), but csports is
a big joke because obviously I am not #1 in the nolf world or even close
to it. It just means I have been wasting more time playing NOLF!
I keep an ever-watchful eye over my csports score and I check it
every day. I find csports VERY useful.
No and I think it's all screwed up.
Who is your favorite player? I dont necessarily mean the best player,
I want to know who you like to see on the server with you because they are
a good teammate, opponent or they just make you laugh.
It is no surprise that most clanners enjoy playing with their teammates, what
is interesting is how much respect the top players have for each other, regardless
of clan affiliation. If there were a favorite NOLFer, then it would have
to be NbK Juice who was named in more than 60 responses.
I don't want to break a lot of hearts here. There are so many people that
I enjoy playing with especially everyone in the BoS clan. But it has to be
Ash Quigley, simply because he taught me so much about NOLF.... he didn't
really know me but he passed on some good tips to me.
Another simple question. If I see anyone from NbK (the natural born
killers), I instantly know to join the server. Many of the other clans
have some great people playing for them, but I am a better friend with the
players of nbk because they are all nice people. Other than that, I
love to play with people from Jab, HC, PM, BoS, GF (although they arent
around much anymore), and some others that I dont feel like naming right
now.
" Crayon and Dan are the best because they pay servers to let us play.(thx
for that)
My favorite 11 players are my original family (GF). I have acquired a
new family that happens to be a great bunch of people. Honestly, the whole
community has something that I have never seen in any other online game.
Its truly amazing. Thank You FOX!
I would have to say mwest, coldkilla, seed, drunken m, and juice.
Its a toss up of seed, juice, mwest and coldkilla.
" Juice.
First of all my fellow clan members (BoS), GkO De@dlyV, PM Dr Evil and
GH Pelayo.
It always was [A]surfergirl, her comments were always great. Runner-ups
are Vlad, Cray and K0W.
Hmm, it used to be Woody (Burner) when I was in TOZ and SBD
(he plays RTCW now), but now I like to play with most BOS players and some
others I guess there are a lot of people I like to play with, too many to
name. I am always glad to see a clanny because that means a challenge
and good back up (well, most clans).
I think [BoS] the Fezz is the best person to play with, not only is he
that damn good, but he is a lot of laughs to. He is an old friend from outside
of nolf but now that he has moved away, nolf gives us a chance to do things
together still.
