Here we have almost universal agreement among players that best thing about
NOLF is the community and the worst thing is the netcode.
“ First the worst thing and I suspect everyone will say this...NOLF has
bad ping and lag, what can I say I hope they fix it for the next version
of NOLF. Second Best thing, Community...I don't mean the outside part of
NOLF like the forums and chatting to friends away from the game. I mean the
inside part, the fact that when your in a server you can easily find your
friends and play a game against them and its easy to chat to people as well. “
“ Easily the best thing about NOLF is the camaraderie and the competition. NOLF’s
biggest flaw is its netcode, which I hope is cured in the 2nd game. “
“The best thing about nolf is the family of dedicated gamers that have kept
this game alive.
The worst thing by far is the netcode. Multiplayer games would not be possible
with out t1-t3 connections. “
“ The best has definitely got to be the interaction between different players
and the worst, the netcode. “
“ The best has got to be the clan matches! Very intense! Worst has
got to be the netcode problem. “
“ Worst: netcode Best: interactivity creates a rich fulfilling community. “
“ Best: the community, fun to play (SP and MP) Worst:
those bugs in the MP “
" Best: Atmosphere, it's easy minded and invites to chat a little.
Worst: The horrible netcode. The lack of remote management. The Rockets (in
some maps they simply make tactics obsolete) Bunnyhopping with some bullets
through the knees. “
“ I think the best thing about nolf is the clans and especially meeting
new people. The worst thing about nolf is the opposite, jerks you meet online. “
The players tell us that the top six things to remember if you want to excel
at NOLF are: play a lot, practice in Death Match, master a skill, learn to
Bunny Hop, never give up and always respect the other players.
“ The hardest thing in NOLF to get use to is the Bunny Hopping...as soon as
you learn how to do this well and shoot at the same time your going to be a
threat to the best of us. “
" I would say that he/she must play every day so he/she can be
good. “
“ That’s a very simple question that has a very simple answer. I have
never seen someone pick the game up and then a week later become one of the
best players in the game. Although, you may be skilled at pc games, that
can only help so much. My advice to a newbie who wants to get better
or to join a good clan is to play as much as possible. The people that
are the best in this game have been playing the game for a long time, often
for extended periods of time. Like they say, “practice makes perfect”,
although I doubt that anyone is perfect at nolf lol. “
“ Play death match to get the feeling of the controls down for the first week
or two. When you feel comfortable getting into a firefight try out the H & U
aspect of the game. This required more a team player role, so find something
that you’re good at and stick with it. If you’re good at sniping, get great
at it. If you feel that you can take the best rusher down with your big briefcase
than guard it with your life. The best players in NOLF are not good at everything
but rather have a trait that makes them stand out above the rest. The rest
of the skills will follow with time. “
“ Learn the maps. Develop strategies for all kinds of situations including
what gun to use or where to fight. Also don’t start stuff with clans/well known
people because that will most likely ruin your reputation if you get good. “
“In nolf it is a good think to keep moving, strafe, jump or whatever!
if u stand still consider yourself dead! Try to be sneaky and take defense
when u first start, it will help u build a solid foundation for killing! Anyone
can run in and get a pic or 2! “
“ Respect the better players if you ever expect to be one. Try
to play as much as possible. Advice
to other experienced players,
don’t try to insult others make
friends cause it’s very nice to have them “
“ Don’t take people opinions
personally. A lot of people insult and put down newbies because they don’t
know anything, like how to use the zip line is the most common. Also, play
A LOT because you’re never going to learn anything. Try and start the most
basic things in single player. “
“ Don't give up. If a better player treats you bad go train in Death match,
come back and kick his ass. But you should stay calm and polite at all times.
It will help you to make friends fast and then the fun really starts. “
“ Don’t get discouraged when you get your arse whooped. Just keep
on playing and make efforts to get better at the particular skills you enjoy
(like sniping, or using corrector, sneaking, etc). Once you get pretty
good at one skill, start honing the other skills that you don’t enjoy as much,
and you’ll start to enjoy them once you get better! Plus, always aim
for the head (hehe). “
“ In my opinion, I would just tell him to give each element a go, def.
base rushing, etc. Find what he was good at and then get him signed up in a
clan. “
“Don't insult people who tend to kill you often. “
“ Never ignore any advice given to you by another player. “
“ Always try to play players with a higher skill level. “
“ Remember the person with the most points isn't always the best player,
there are other functions in the game just as important as scoring pics. “
“ Customize your Control settings. You have to be able to do everything
in the game as fast as possible (e.g. switching weapons, zooming in.). I use
the mouse wheel to zoom, 3rd + 4th mouse button to switch between weapons,
1-9 keys to choose weapon. I found it much easier to aim after I set the mouse
sensitivity in the controls menu next to lowest possible setting. Don't be
an easy target, always keep moving and jump a lot. Turn on "always run" in
the options or press Caps Lock to run in the game, never walk. Aim for the
feet/next wall with explosives (Briefcase, Corrector...). Aim for the head
with bullets. “
“ Play smart.“
